I managed to get a long crack on my cover of my brand new swatch Irony - it will have to be replaced. Is this possible?

Hi,

what swatch do you have? Irony Chrono, Irony Lady,...

It depends on the model.

Interesting... :?

Is there a way to open the ring that holds the crystal in place? I always thought the ring was machined onto the case to make the crystal underneath water resistant.

Hi sir_swatch,

some irony models are repairable and so it is possible to remove the ring of this models. But unfortunatly not all models.

The ring dosn't drop off easy, so I think this is strong enough to be water resistant.

can the front cover of an irony aluminium be replaced? i don't think it is glass, rather some kind of polymer (polycarbonate or so)

Wich model? Irony aluminium standart is not possible, Irony aluminium Chrono is possible.

The glas of every swatch is plastic. This allows to polish the scrates out of it. Only the Retrograde and the Diaphane one's have real glas.

Hi jolly_roger,

you have an irony chrono. So it it possible to exchange the glass of you watch! :D

All swatch glases can be polished yourself at home without any tools. You just need a Polywatch.

 To polish glass you need a special tooling and it is expensive :!: And to come back on the watch glasses: I heared that other brands exchange glasses, but I never heared of a brand (in the price category of swatch) that polish the glass.

Hi tvrt350,

yes, the glas of your watch can also be exchanged.

If you wantg to do this, you should go to any swatch store or official swatch dealer. They usualy will help you.

 On the picture I don't see, that the glas is broken. If it only have scrates, you can polish them. That's cheeper  You can polish it with Polywatch (see posting above) or usualy the swatch stores have a polishing mashine.

Dear all!

I have a Swatch Irony YCS450 about a year old and dropped it on the pavement, broke the glass (substantial cracks through the glass). Please advise if the crystal can be replaced or not. Swatch International has not replied my request (sent from the web) in 16 days and Estonian Official dealer said I have to discard the watch and buy a new one. In case you know the glass is replaceable, please advise where I could get an official quote to fight them and replace the glass (or the whole watch, if they are unable with the glass).

Sincerely,

Siim L.
