As soon as you see that little red/white Swiss cross you know it's a FAKE! They should write Fake on the dial instead of putting the red/white cross on it! :D

There are several fakes on ebay right now, I don't think Ebay cares, they collect their fees if item sales.  I have been tracking one fake that sold, so far no feed has been left by buyer.

After looking at what other items some sellers of fakes have, I don't think they have any idea they are selling counterfeit Swatch  or :x

You are probably correct on that Utah. I always see 1983 Swatches on eBay that are listed wrong. I usually send the seller a little memo and they usually change their listing. Alot of time if the item already has a bidder the seller can't change the listing, but can add a note in his description of the item of the error. And also alot of times they just ignore you unless a bunch of people email them about it. :(

Here's an odd one that I guess should be concidered a FAKE since it was made by the seller. Ebay 160776930802.

Yes, to me a thing like that would be worthless.
It's been a long time though that I have seen an original big S prototype...

UPDATE: That 'thing' just sold close to $80! Probably cost him only about ten bucks to make one. I betcha that seller starts dropping them on ebay now. And just think of all the nice REAL Swatches that buyer could have had for that money!!

Here's one on eBay 160791863802. Even the seller says it's a FAKE! I just want to know is he allowed to sell this :?:

Does having the word "Facsimile" in the title make it more acceptable and respectable for Ebay to tolerate?

The last one, The Rat, looks like its been well butchered to achieve the end result....

I think a Swatch Auto with a genuine Swatch Face would be more attractive and more acceptable, don't you? But I suppose its all down to what people want in their collections at the end of the day...... a good fake maybe, a desperately poor one, why bother.

Takes all sorts

Hi jeb33 I agree. The last one like this sold for $75 and had alot of bids, so there's a market for them. And when there's a market people will start making them!

I wonder how many of these were ever created and by whom? Do the Guru's have the answer.

Dear Jeb33, This dial is just a replica. It's like the Lamborghini cars. Only very few were made, but so many people want it, that replica's are made. And there are far more replica's than real watches...

Cheers Rob, I knew you would have the knowledge, I quite like seeing the creativity /ingenuity of the other watch makers : )

Replicas just add another interesting dimension to the Swatch story..... also offer an option to those that want to have something they can never hope to own or touch :D - not to mention revitalise that special old friend that may have ticked its last. :(

I have just downloaded the Blum Auction catalogue - AMAZING!!!! We just don't know the half of it do we? Well I don't.

Thanks again

Brutal! The display is too square too.

Sad to see these arrived in The Netherlands too, I spotted them on http://www.marktplaats.nl for 25 Euro each.
