New Swatch-Clopedia 2008

Postby Rob » Thu Oct 30, 2008 10:25 pm

It is final now! This week Hans van Buuren with the help of Michael Wägele, Marcel Hoogenraad, Rob Versteeg and Martina Matesova have finished a tremendous job.

The new Swatch-clopedia is ready!! It will be sent to the printer tomorrow and December 1st it will be released officially!

1. The book will have a bit bigger size, 22x22 cm, so it will be the same height as the old book, but a few centimeters wider.
2. The book will contain all Swatch watches from 1983 till 2008.
3. The book will also contain the full Swatch Bijoux collection and the Flik Flak collection.
4. The book will no longer contain the prices. The prices will be added in a separate small index.

For all these things we have had our reasons. Nowadays the Swatch company is our biggest customer of this catalog and they have never liked the prices in the catalog. The addition of the Bijoux and Flik Flak makes this book a great asset for the stores.

For the collectors the lack of prices doesn't help, but we hope to have relieved this problem by adding the loose index. Nowadays the prices can be found on the world wide web at squiggly.com, or on Ebay, so we think it's not that important anymore.

Pictures will be added to this topic tomorrow and here you can add yourself to the wish list for the new Swatch-clopedia!

Hello Rob,

I'm glad that we will have an up-dated book, the Reference Book for all Swatch Collectors.

I agree with you, if you deliver the book with prices as an index, I think it's not a problem.

I already ask in the Squiggly website for being informed when the is available!

Regards,
masas

We increased the size of the pages to 22x22 cm, which means we can put a lot more watches on one page. Because of this we now have 840 pages. If we would have kept the old format, we would now have around 1300 pages of Swatch fun and data. :-)

Dear Masas,

No, this year no special edition. This year we have created the Bijoux and Flik Flak on our website, we have rented a shop, created a complete new interior, made a new Swatch-clopedia and we have re-arranged our entire back office from our website and are now working on an update of the site, so it will be more friendly for the users... Oh and I forget we're also planning our own Bijoux line made from .925 silver and precious stones.
For me this is enough for one year...

Next year we will create a new website www.mastersintime.com with other brands and maybe even our own watch line. This line will be da bomb.....just need time to set it all up.
I know this is all less interesting for you Swatch collectors, but at the moment Squiggly is totally dependent on Swatch and I feel we have done great all those years, but we should spread the risk a bit more. This doesn't mean of course we will do less in Swatch. I have already hired more staff. Jeroen will continue to bombard you with Swatch, while other people will take care of those other brands...

Just to let you know...
