The most important thing about a Swatch Automatic is the fact that it doesn't need a battery: the movement from your arms powers the mechanism. There are two versions: one with and one without date. These Swatches were produced between 1991 and 1997. After 1997 Swatch launched the Autoquartz, which carries a newer technology.
