A naturally classic frame holds a cool, clear instrument panel. This exemplary Irony Big features a moulded brown leather strap and white stitching that contrasts nicely with the brushed surface of the case and polished bezel, both in stainless steel 316L. An engraved band on the bezel takes up the brown from the strap and grounds polished Arabic numerals raised in relief at hours 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12; hours three and nine appear in capital letters in relief. Framing the solid blue-grey dial is a white ring with finely printed blue-grey Arabic numerals (13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24; 3 and 9 are emphasised) and white hour stripes. A second, finely drawn white circle shows Arabic numerals (05, 10, 20, 25 … 60); the two white rings are joined by a white frame around the white-on-blue-grey date aperture at 3 o’clock. Slightly tapered polished squelette metal hour and minute hands and a slim white seconds hand mark the time.
