Cryptic black stamps suggestive of postal cancellation marks frame the solid black plastic case and bezel; the latter features stencilled olive-green Arabic numerals (10, 20 … 60) and a black-on-olive green minute ring. The dial extends the enigmatic design with raster-graphic dots on a light brown-coloured ground and postal cancellation marks. Large stencilled black Arabic numerals indicate hours 4, 8 and 12, black-stripe hour markers all other hours but 3, where a black-on-white date aperture appears. The chrono and continuous seconds counters in different sizes present light olive green dials with diverse indexes and/or alphanumeric markings in black, and black hands. The decimal counter recalls a balloon flight undertaken in 1783, offering a clue to the mystery behind this intriguing chronograph. Tapered black hour and minute hands with superlite highlights mark the time.
