In January 2007 we have started with the foundation to give the grandchildren of Jhalho the chance to go to school and become full worthy citizens of their own country.
The two families have brought all 10 children together. One father and mother stayed with the children whilst the other father and mother took care of the cattle. A house was rented in a village where there is also a school. |

In May 2007 they were told they had to leave the house because it was to be demolished to make place for a new road. They moved to another house and again restarted their lives. Then disaster struck again, but much more severe. The mother that took care of the children was pregnant of another child and in the 8th month of pregnancy there were complications and before they could move her to a hospital (400 kilometers further) she suddenly died. This left the father with 10 children grieving over the death of his wife. Please not this is not a bad book. This is real life in Tibet!!! How can he take care of 10 children? A solution had to be found. Nowadays part of the children stay with the grandfather Jhalho and his wife and part with the father. The children still go to school and they are learning well. |
