On March 1, 1983 the first Swatch watch officially went for sale. The sales started with a launch in Zürich. After 25 years we're still enjoying the fun, elegance and design of our favorite Swatch watches.

Collecting prototypes and variants is one of the topics that I am most interested in. This prototype has a blue case instead of a green one, so the difference is obvious. The first Swatch watch designed by Swiss Artist Matthias Winkler. I love artist watches and Matthias' art fits Swatch watches quite well. In the years following the release, Matthias took part in a lot of Swatch activities and Swatch events such as painting individual maxi swatches or sleeves for Zeit2 or ...
