Swatch Group’s Swatch brand gets new head

ZURICH, May 6 – Swatch Group’s brand Swatch will be headed by Arlette-Elsa Emch who is taking over from Nicolas Hayek, allowing him to concentrate on the Breguet marque and other projects, a spokeswoman for the group said.

Emch will take over with immediate effect and will remain head of Swatch Group’s ck watch marque, spokeswoman Beatrice Howald said on Wednesday.

The move means that Hayek, who is also chairman of the Swatch Group as well as head of the group’s prestigious Breguet brand, will be able to spend more time on Breguet as well as on his company Belenos Clean Power.

Hayek founded Belenos Clean Power to look into ways of using solar power to produce energy without emitting greenhouse gases.
