INTERPRETATION (SUPK103) shows the special effects of colour and form under the rule of time and motion. The plastic strap of this fascinating SWATCH Jelly in Jelly Puzzle Motion presents an abstract play of colour fields in lilac, dark pink, white and dark grey-brown, stretching like an artist’s canvas from the plastic buckle to the see-through plastic case that frames a kaleidoscopic dial. The dial itself takes up the abstract colour fields from the strap and sets the patterned play in motion. Above the dark grey-brown base is a double layer of multicoloured printed plastic disks. As the watch movement drives the disks on the dial, an eight-pointed flower emerges from the chaos, blooms and is transformed again into flowing form and colour. Absent all numerals, the dial shows cool grey dots at every hour. Slim white hour and minute hands mark the time.
