To change a buckle on a plastic swatch strap, you need the following two things.

Take the pliers and grip the strap just like the image. |

With you other hand take the little screw driver and put it diagonal between the bugle and the pliers. |

Pull up the screw driver and flip of the buckle from the metal part. |

Slide of the buckle and remove the little pin. |

If necessary you can now change or renew the keeper on the strap. |

Take the new buckle and slide the metal pin in to the strap. |

Put in the new pin with the angle pointing down and slide the buckle right trough the hole. |

Make sure you push the pin trough so that it is in place just like the image. |

Hold the strap between two fingers and push up the loose part of the strap to place the little hole on top of the metal pin. |

When you finished pushing up the loose end of the strap, it looks like this. |

Now squeeze both sides of the buckle so it returns to its original shape. |

Congratulations! You just changed the buckle on your swatch strap. |
