A brilliant play on movements, retro-fitted for the future. The grooved, bright orange silicon strap grips the solid steel case of this fascinating Irony Chrono Retrograde. The engraved steel bezel frames a structured silver dial with its innovative combination of 5- and 60-minute totalizers at 2 and 10 o’clock, a 30-seconds counter whose scale appears on the lower half of the flange, a petite seconde counter at hour 6 and a black-on-white date window just above hour 4. Embossed Arabic numerals at hours 4, 8 and 12 and indices at all other hours contrast with bold orange counter hands and skeleton metal hour and minute hands tipped with white superlite highlights. This new model’s biggest attraction, of course, is the retrograde motion of the chronograph counters, whose hands leap back to zero at regular intervals—a delight to see.
